my mom’s table
is always full of gleena. so nice to see it in use when I come to visit, paired with mom’s beautiful linen tablecloths, just the right small spoon for the salt cellar, and of course her delicious food.
should i make my own backsplash tiles...
My kitchen backsplash currently looks like this (just the adhesive left over from when I tore down the plastic crap that was there):
(tea pot by Judy Jackson) many friends like the yellow distressed look, but I am getting a bit tired of it, and have been thinking of getting nice gray-blue tiles, kind of like these from Heath:
and then I realized that I make a glaze for my plates that is oh so similar:
so why don’t I make my own backsplash tiles? in my spare time? I’ll try... because I really like the way the numbers look stamped in. Handmade tiles with stamped in numbers...hmmmm

despite the super bowl, the nor'easter, the ice storm...
Despite hiked up flight and hotel rates and jammed traffic for the Super Bowl on Saturday/Sunday, the Nor'easter that hit on Monday, the ice storm that hit on Wednesday, the NY NOW Show was really fun. This is because a lot of my current retailers came to visit, and a lot of new stores came to add gleena to their collections. And because I was surrounded by kind, talented, and inspiring artists up and down the isles. I am grateful, though exhausted.

knitting needles and yarn from loopy mango, also an exhibitor at the show.

chain link fence transformed by the Nor’easter
pendant by Eric Silva
glasses reclaimed from bottles by Nanda Soderberg
tree branches decorated by the ice storm
and then it’s time to go home. see you this summer, for the heat wave.
