bone dry

There is a certain quality to porcelain when it is bone dry that I love: the color variation of the naturally dry material, the flatness of the finish, how it’s all about the purity of form. I had a table full of bone dry ware, ready to go into the bisque firing, the light hit it just right, and I had to capture the curves and stacks and shadows...

experimenting with glaze combinations


The Phillips Collection in Washington D.C. challenged me to create pieces relating to a painting exhibition at their gallery called Made in the USA. It was a pleasure combining my glazes to create mini abstract odes to the featured painters...






an extra bonus: the super thin porcelain pod vases glow beautifully with a lit tea light, an altogether different experience...
